James Guy won a medal in every event he competed in at Birmingham 2022.

The freestyle and butterfly star left the Midlands weighed down by seven medals, taking his overall Commonwealth Games total to 13.

He won gold in the men's 4x100m medley, with the relay favourite taking home two silvers and a bronze in three other team races.

Outside of swimming, Guy can often be found watching golf or tackling 18 holes himself, while he is also a passionate Manchester City fan.

The 26-year-old was presented to the Etihad crowd in 2021 after an Olympic Games that saw him win two golds and a silver across three relay events, bringing his total Olympic medal haul to five.

His toughest challenge of 2021 though? Posing for a live life drawing challenge on BBC 2, sketched by the likes of Johnny Vegas and Kimberly Wyatt, which was “harder” than racing.

Swimming and Para-Swimming
Tom Dean aka “The SubmaDean” followed up his double Olympic triumph at Tokyo 2020 by making history in Birmingham, becoming the first Home Nations athlete to win seven medals at a single Commonwealth Games.
