How did James Guy celebrate the end of this year’s British Swimming Championships? By watching the final round of The Masters with a Burger King.

Outside of swimming, the seven-time Commonwealth medallist can often be found watching golf or tackling 18 holes himself, while he is also a passionate Manchester City fan.

The 26-year-old was presented to the Etihad crowd last summer after an Olympic Games that saw him win two golds and a silver across three relay events, bringing his total Olympic medal haul to five.

His toughest challenge of 2021 though? Posing for a live life drawing challenge on BBC 2, sketched by the likes of Johnny Vegas and Kimberly Wyatt, which was “harder” than racing.

Guy will be heading for his third Commonwealth Games this summer, looking to add to the seven medals he won across Glasgow and Gold Coast.

Tom Dean aka “The SubmaDean” followed up his double Olympic triumph at Tokyo 2020 by making history in Birmingham, becoming the first Home Nations athlete to win seven medals at a single Commonwealth Games.
