Jade Atkin has spent much of her sporting career with her sister Adele by her side but this summer will go it alone as part of Team England’s first wheelchair basketball squad.

It was Adele who first introduced the 20-year-old to the sport and the duo were selected for their first GB Junior Women’s training squad at the same time.

Since then, Atkin has claimed a gold medal for Great Britain at the 2018 U24 European Championships before securing a silver at the senior tournament last year and is now one of four athletes selected as the sport makes its Games debut.

An exciting, action-packed, smaller format of the 5x5 game, 3x3 Wheelchair Basketball made history in Birmingham when the sport made its Commonwealth Games debut.
