Innes FitzGerald heads to her first Commonwealth Games having garnered a reputation as one of the most exciting distance talents around.
FitzGerald cleaned up at the European Under-20 Championships last summer, cruising to 3000m and 5000m golds in Tampere.
She broke the championship record in the 3000m, having already broken Zola Budd's British U20 record in the 5000m earlier that year.
Her performances earned her a place at the senior World Championships in Tokyo a month later.
FitzGerald also boasts a prolific cross-country record, winning a hat-trick of both team and individual U20 golds at the past three European Cross-Country Championships.
Away from the track, FitzGerald has used her voice to raise concerns around the environment and climate change.
