Hayden Norris has been making the most of home comforts as he prepares for his first Commonwealth Games.

Stafford born and bred, the cyclist had his first taste of life on the track at Derby Arena aged 13 and is now putting in the hard yards at the same venue, which is hosting the cream of the British Cycling crop while the Manchester Velodrome undergoes refurbishment.

Norris enjoyed a successful trip to the European Under-23 Championships last summer, winning men’s team sprint gold and time trial silver in the week after his 19^th birthday.
