Harris Akbar headed to his debut Commonwealth Games with a European title under his belt, reaching the quarter-finals.
Bradford's Akbar came through his first round in Birmingham with flying colours before being edged in a tight contest with eventual gold medallist Aidan Walsh of Northern Ireland.
The light-middleweight bounced back from first-round defeat at the World Championships to go all the way at the European Championships in Yerevan, and add to his collection which boasts a Commonwealth Youth Games medal from 2015.
