All-action defender Halimat Adio makes her major international tournament debut at Glasgow 2026.
Adio began playing netball in Year 9 and represented Hertfordshire Mavericks’ academy side at sixth form college, before her Netball Super League debut in 2018 for Wasps.
A single season at Severn Stars followed before she made the move that defined her career, returning to the capital she has always called home.
The Haringey-born defender signed for London Pulse ahead of the cancelled 2020 campaign, running out in pink for the first time in 2021. After battling back from an ACL injury, she returned to action in 2023 and helped her side reach their first Grand Final.
Her debut for the England Roses in 2023 strengthened a tight defensive bond with Funmi Fadoju in both club and country colours.
The agile goalkeeper picked up her first NSL title in 2025 and in her spare time, she is a coach at grassroots club Hyde Park in Kentish Town, North London.
