Georgina Schwiening finished 11th in the women's marathon on her Commonwealth Games debut at Birmingham 2022.
It was a remarkable achievement for the former world junior duathlon champion, who did so without a coach and while working full-time.
But the Cambridge-based athlete has gone from strength to strength since, who posted a new personal best of 2:26:28 in December 2022 in Valencia - a full 14 minutes quicker than her time in Birmingham.
Schwiening, who attended the University of Bath for sport and exercise science, stepped on her first senior podium in 2018 after finishing third at the ITU Multisport World Championships in Denmark.
Her focus then switched solely to road running as she won the Worthing Half Marathon and narrowly missed out on the top 10 among the women at the London Marathon, her 2:54:30 landing her in 11th.
A then new PB of 2:31:35 in Manchester in April 2022 was the perfect preparation for Birmingham.
