Gemma Richardson knows what it takes to battle back from injury and has had to do so again in order to make her Commonwealth Games bow.
A knock sustained at the start of the year put her ticket to Birmingham in doubt but the Scunthorpe star returned to sparring at the start of June and is raring to add to her medal collection.
A Youth World Championship gold medallist in 2018, Richardson is also a two-time European Youth champion and secured the second of those in Sofia in 2019 having trained one-handed in the build-up due to suffering a tear in her right hand.
Richardson hails from a boxing family and her older brother, James, has won his first three professional fights.
