A leader with four Netball Super League titles and World Cup medals on her resume, Francesca Williams captains Team England in Glasgow.
She arrives for her Commonwealth Games debut having established herself as one of the best defenders around following two seasons playing for West Coast Fever in Australia.
She won the Suncorp Super Netball title in her maiden campaign, having earned the move following back-to-back titles with Loughborough Lightning in the Netball Super League.
Williams made her Netball Super League debut with Surrey Storm at just 18 years old and won her first NSL title of two Grand Final triumphs with Wasps just a year later in 2017, backing that up with another in 2018.
On the international stage, Williams showed her leadership qualities from a young age, leading England to third place at the Netball Youth World Cup 2017 in Botswana.
She made her senior debut in 2018 in Liverpool against Uganda, and was the youngest member of the 2019 Netball World Cup squad that claimed bronze.
A second World Cup medal followed in 2023 on home soil, as England reached a first-ever final against Australia in South Africa.
After half-a-decade at the heart of the England Roses, Williams was awarded the captaincy after the 2023 World Cup.
The Fever goal defence guided England to a first Netball Nations Cup crown in 2025, defeating South Africa in the final.
