Emily Campbell cemented her place as a history maker at Birmingham 2022.

The weightlifter broke a Games record as she claimed gold in the women's +87kg category, beating the defending champion by three kilograms and breaking her personal best.

The summer before she had added her name to the record books by becoming the first British woman to medal in weightlifting at the Olympics with silver in the +87kg event.

A Leeds Beckett graduate with a degree in Sports Science, the 28-year-old has achieved success across the board, with a bronze medal in the World Championships in Tashkent in 2021 as well as winning the European Championships in Moscow in the same year.

She trains at the legendary Atlas gym in Alfreton and attended her second Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, having won a bronze medal on the Gold Coast in 2018.
