Middle-distance maestro Elliot Giles recovered from a serious motorcycle accident that sidelined him for two years before bagging his first major medal with European bronze in 2016.
Eight-time British champion Giles competed at the Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 Olympics before launching his own electric bike company after his dad made a miraculous recovery from Covid-19.
Giles set a new British record for the 800m indoors in February 2021 in Poland, smashing Seb Coe’s 38-year-old record and returned to his birthplace for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Despite finishing ninth he emerged with a lifetime best of 3:33.56, one of eight in a field of 12 to run personal bests in the 1500m final.
