Despite a glittering heptathlon career, Ellen Barber is yet to taste the glory of a Commonwealth Games.
She won her first national title in 2019 and was selected for the European Combined Events Team Championships in Ukraine, and her personal best points total steadily rose from there.
In 2025, she hit 6037 points to win her second national title in Birmingham, beating Anna McCauley to the gold, but a year later she bested herself again, earning an enormous 6169 points at a meet in Austria.
Outside of heptathlon, Barber is also an adept horse rider and comes from an impressive equestrian family. Grandfather Paul was a successful owner.
