Elise Thorner heads to her first Commonwealth Games as the breakout star of British steeplechasing.
Thorner enjoyed a 2025 to remember, as she established herself at senior international level following time with the Florida Gators in the US.
She became British champion for the first time in 2025, breaking the championship record in the process, and qualified for the World Championships, where she ran a personal best to qualify for the final where she finished 11th.
Thorner continued to knock the seconds off her personal best in 2026 and now sits second in the all-time list behind Commonwealth silver medallist Elizabeth Bird.
She prepared for Glasgow 2026 by retaining her British title and lowering her own championship record.
