Edward Mildred helped Team England to three relay medals at Birmingham 2022.

In the tough but vital role of a heat swimmer, Mildred was a key part of setting his teammates up for a strong final, recieving two silver and one bronze medal for his impressive efforts in the pool.

Silver came in the form of the 4x100m freestyle and 4x100m mixed freestyle relay, with bronze in the 4x100m mixed medley relay.

Mildred balanced football with swimming at the start of his career but has never looked back since going for trials at Northampton Swimming Club at the age of eight.

At just 16, Mildred starred by winning six medals at the 2019 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival, going on to win two medals at the 2022 World Championships in the 4x100m freestyle and 4x100m mixed freestyle relays.

And three years later, Mildred went to his first Commonwealth Games as a 19-year-old at a venue just over an hour away from his local club.
