Demie-Jade Resztan roared to a stunning silver medal at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games.

Despite falling to India's Nitu Ghanghas in the final, Resztan was able to clinch second in her debut for Team England.

She was voted GB Boxing’s ‘Newcomer of the Year’ in 2019 and has only gone on to prove her worth.

In that year the Cambridge native won her fourth successive English title, brought back a superb bronze medal from the World Championships and spent two months sidelined by pancreatitis.

With European silver and bronze also in her locker, Resztan will be aiming for top step at a home Games.

Boxing
Team England brought 14 boxers to Birmingham, with the group consisting of 8 men and 6 women.
