Inimitable dad of three Daryl Selby does things his own way.

Approaching his 40th birthday, the Harlow-born right-hander completed his first ultra marathon in under ten hours last summer.

He combines squash with a career as a sporting agent, managing professional athletes across multiple sports.

The former world No.9 scaled back his squash schedule in November 2021, stepping away from the World Tour treadmill to focus solely on selection for the Commonwealth Games.

Selby picked up medals at the last two Games, upgrading doubles bronze in 2014 with James Willstrop to silver alongside Adrian Waller on the Gold Coast.

The stand-out story from the glass courts at the University of Birmingham was undoubtedly that of Gina Kennedy who, on her Games debut, became the first English woman to win the Women’s Singles title.
