Commonwealth Appearances

After coming through very dark days, Craig Bowler looked towards the light, reached the Commonwealth Games and won a bronze medal.

Almost 15 years ago, Bowler suffered bouts of depression which led to a suicide attempt and life-changing injuries, with his right arm and both his legs below the knee amputated.

The ex-bricklayer married the nurse that helped him get healthy again and she was in the crowd to see him win bronze alongside Kieran Rollings in the men's para pairs.

Bowler was part of the winning England squad at the 2019 International Para Home Nations Championships and runner-up with Adrian Mellows at last year’s DBE National Outdoor Men’s Pairs.

Lawn Bowls
It was a hugely successful campaign at Leamington Spa’s Victoria Park and some thrilling games saw Team England leave the plush lawn with six medals including two gold, two silver and two bronze.
