Charlie Bowling

Having spent lockdowns training on the family farm, Wigan-born wrestler Charlie Bowling will hope to bring home the bacon in Birmingham.

Bowling has already taken huge strides at 74kg, winning bronze at his first Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in 2018.

Coached by Derek Rowlands at Aspull Warriors Wrestling Club, he won his first British title in 2017 and went on to win gold at the Kwiks International in Belgium.

Freestyle wrestling was an event contested at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, where Team England secured three bronze medals, won by Georgina Nelthorpe, Syerus Eslami and Charlie Bowling and placed third on the medal table.
