Middlesbrough judoka Charlie Ayre heads to Glasgow 2026 having found his feet on the senior international stage.
Ayre made his senior European Championship debut in 2026 and is now ready to do the same at the Commonwealth Games this summer.
It follows an impressive junior career that saw Ayre win gold at the Birmingham Junior European Cup in 2025.
Later that year, he earned his first senior medals with bronze at the Conegliano European Open and silver at the Sofia European Open to start 2026.

The three-day Judo bonanza kicked off with Team England success in the form of a gold medal for Ashley McKenzie who came out on top in an all-English final against Sam Hall in the 60kg competition.
