Calli Thackery is one of a number of athletes who chose to head to the United States for her higher education, studying at the University of New Mexico.

She finished fifth at the 2015 European U23 Championships and is having a late career renaissance, posting her 5000m personal best in June with 15:06.26, putting her 17^th on the all-time UK list.

The 29-year-old is eager to emulate the success of her father, Carl, who is a world half-marathon bronze medallist.

She finished 10th in the women's 5000m at Birmingham 2022 in a time of 15:24.82.
