Anna Whitworth-Hay will make an unexpected step up to the Commonwealth Games stage this summer following a promising career at youth level.
She won European Junior team sprint gold and keirin bronze in 2023, and competed at the British Cycling National Track Championships in Manchester earlier this year.
Having joined the pilot programme with British Cycling, she has joined forces with six-time Paralympic medallist Sophie Unwin at late notice to pilot her tandem around the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome.
Outside the velodrome, Whitworth-Hay has her own photography Instagram and spends her time snapping other cyclists as well as doing a bit of plane spotting.
Track Cycling and Para Track Cycling
Cycling at the Commonwealth Games in the past has taken place across three different disciplines; Track Cycling, Road Cycling and Mountain Bike.
