Anna Purchase might have just been a junior at the University of California, but her prodigious talent saw her soar to a Commonwealth Games debut in Birmingham.

Purchase, who majors in media studies, took fourth place in the hammer throw at the European U23 Championships in 2021 and finished in an incredible seventh place on her Team England debut.

She finished second at the England U20 Championships in 2017 and 2018 while a member of Nottingham Athletics Club.

At the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Purchase reached the final of the women's hammer throw, taking home 11th place.

In front of a 30,000 strong crowd at the newly refurbished Alexander Stadium, Team England picked up a host of medals at Birmingham 2022.
