There are few sports Anna Henderson didn’t try her hand at when she was growing up, as her parents introduced her to ice skating, netball, tennis, football and swimming.

A skiing competition at the Hemel Hempstead dry slope aged four changed everything though as the winter discipline gradually dominated her schedule along with hockey.

She eventually graduated to the national development team, spending months at the Ambition Racing ski academy in Austria, before reaching a crossroads after suffering a broken leg.

That’s when cycling took over as Henderson’s main pursuit, using the bike as relief during her year-long rehab before the Olympic Velodrome in London stirred her competitive edge.

Henderson has gained valuable experience on the road and track since - securing the British national time trial title in the process - before taking Commonwealth silver in 2022.

Cycling
Cycling at the Commonwealth Games in the past has taken place across three different disciplines; Track Cycling, Road Cycling and Mountain Bike.
