Alice Barnes has been racing for as long as she can remember, founded on tear-ups with sister Hannah and brother Henry on mountain, road and track bikes.

She chose mountain biking at the outset, finishing fifth at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and winning World Cup bronze a year later.

2016 was the year Barnes’ career pivoted towards the road as she flirted with selection for the Rio Olympics and beat legendary Marianne Vos in a sprint on the Bene Ladies Tour.

After five years racing for trade team Canyon-SRAM, Barnes switched to Uno-X for the 2022 season.

Having won both national time trial and road race titles in 2020, Barnes went into the 2022 Commonwealth Games full of confidence and came away with a 10th place finish.
