Double gold was the only outcome for Alex Yee in Birmingham.
One of the favourites heading into the competition, Yee stormed to victory in the men's triathlon before stalking home in the mixed relay to help secure his second gold alongside Sophie Coldwell, Sam Dickinson and Georgia Taylor-Brown.
From an early age, the Lewisham-born athlete's potential was clear to see.
After watching his dad compete in duathlons domestically, he went down to the first-ever Crystal Palace Triathletes junior session at the age of nine and has not looked back since.
His development was aided by training with the legendary Brownlee brothers in Leeds, having recovered from a serious mid-race crash at an ITU World Cup event in 2017.
A British 10,000m champion who developed a reputation for delivering sub-14-minute 5Ks, Alex proved he was just as adept in the water and on the bike during a sensational 2021.
He claimed overall bronze at the World Triathlon Championship Series in 2021, having produced a gold-medal-winning performance in the Leeds event, before heading to his first Olympics in Tokyo.
During an epic week in the Japanese capital, the boy from Brockley claimed individual silver and mixed relay gold - feats that earned him an MBE in the 2022 New Year’s Honours.
