It's been a busy weekend for Team England stars competing at international events. Multiple Commonwealth Games medallists Nile Wilson and Claudia Fragapane concluded the World Gymnastics Championships in style, with Wilson marking his world debut with a superb 4th place in the the high bars and Fragapane placed 8th on the floor in her first senior year. That follows Max Whitlock taking the all round silver and the men's and women's team placing 4th and 6th respectively.
In the opening HSBC Sevens World Series tournament, England Rugby sevens finished third in the Gold Coast. England beat New Zealand 31-7 in the quarter final – the biggest defeat inflicted on the reigning Gold Coast Champions since 2003 but lost 48-7 to eventual winners Fiji in the semi. They defeated South Africa 19-0 to claim third place.
In judo, Commonwealth Champion Nekoda Davis took her first ever Grand Prix medal with a bronze at the Astana Grand Prix in Kazakhstan and secured 120 qualification points for the 2016 Olympics in Rio along the way.
