The Board of Commonwealth Games England is seeking a Chairperson.
Commonwealth Games England (CGE) is responsible for the participation of the English team at the Commonwealth Games and is the custodian of the Team England brand: the only elite, English,multi-sports property. It works closely with multiple sports governing bodies, Sport England and local Organising Committees.
In addition to its heavy involvement in this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, CGE is already focused on planning for the 2018 Games on the Gold Coast, Australia and the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa (2015) and St Lucia (2017).
CGE’s core purpose is to deliver an excellent performance environment for the England team; develop a robust and sustainable commercial model to support the funding of the team; represent England effectively within the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) and help promote the value of the Games as a global sporting event.
The Role:
The Chair will provide strategic leadership to the Board and support the Chief Executive Officer in defining and delivering the CGE’s strategy.
Chair Board and General Meetings, promoting the highest standards of corporate governance and transparency, ensuring that the organisation meets all statutory, legal and contractual requirements.
Represent the CGE at a senior level at CGF meetings around the globe, engaging with key stakeholders, nationally and internationally.
