Jan Paterson Team England Chef de Mission said: "I am delighted to welcome both the men's and women's boxers to Team England.  I'm particularly proud that women's boxing will make its Commonwealth Games debut in Glasgow. Team England has a great heritage in the ring and I'd like to wish all of these athletes the very best for their final preparations."

Caspar Hobbs, Chairman of England Boxing added: “We are fortunate to have a very good crop of talent in English boxing right now and the men and women that have been selected should be very proud of their achievement in making it into the team and having the opportunity to represent England at the Commonwealth Games.

“English boxers have a very good track record at the Commonwealth Games and we are hopeful that this team can continue that success and emulate the achievements of previous England teams.

“I have no doubt that the addition of women’s boxing will significantly enhance the competition and make boxing one of the must-see events of the whole games.”
