Over seventy of Team England’s athletes are taking part in the Queen’s Baton Relay this month, with the Baton touring the nation as it finishes its journey to the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony on 28th July.

The Baton has toured all other Commonwealth nations and territories, including a visit to London over the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend, and commenced its final leg of England earlier this week.

Kicking things off on Monday 4 July, the Baton was welcomed by Team England President Denise Lewis and Commonwealth Swimming champion Ben Proud at the Eden Project.

Over seventy of Team England’s athletes who have either been Part of the Pride across previous Games or are set to make their Commonwealth Games debut are carrying the Baton across the nation’s regions.

Following its trip to the South West on the 4-5 July, the Baton headed to the South East of England for two days which included a trip to Eton with three Team England stars taking part. On the 7 July, Lawn Bowls player Sian Honnor carried the Baton through her hometown of Canterbury.

The Baton then started to make its way further north, with a busy couple of days in the East of England before getting its first taste of the Midlands, being carried through Northampton, Leicester, Nottingham and Loughborough by Team England athletes in the East Midlands from 10-11 July.

The leap further up the country will see a two-day stay in Yorkshire and Humber kicking off with a trip to the English Institute of Sport in Sheffield on 12 July with Annie Last, Natalie Metcalf and Ross Wilson carrying the Baton.

As the Baton makes its way back around towards the West Midlands, it visits the North East of the Country for two days, with 2018 Swimming sensation, and Commonwealth Games England Board member, Aimee Wilmott Booker in Middlesborough before touring the North West of the country from 16-17 July.

The Baton will then enjoy over a week in the West Midlands, visiting sites from Aston Villa FC’s training ground to the Mailbox with Team England stars leading the way to the Opening Ceremony on 28 July.

Please see below a full list of Team England athletes who have been selected as Batonbearers for the 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay.
