Alicia Barrett (100m hurdles) and Jessica Turner (400m hurdles) have been added to the Team England athletics squad for the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast. The pair replace James Dasaolu and Ashleigh Nelson who have opted to withdraw from the squad.

Barrett and Turner were both selected for the British team at the IAAF World Championships London 2017 last summer, competing in the 100m hurdles heats and 400m hurdles respectively. They will make their Commonwealth Games debuts for Team England in April.

As with previous replacements, the panel invited the next athlete on the reserve list which was Jonny Mellor.  However, due to his initial non-selection the marathon runner decided to concentrate on the Virgin London Marathon in April.
