Leicester offered a warm welcome to the Queen's Baton relay today as a host of events took place in the city centre to celebrate its arrival.

The day began by the city's famous Clock Tower before a big participation event at Abbey Park. On both occasions a huge number of school children turned out and were given the chance to try their hand at various sports.

The action didn't stop there though as the a culmination of efforts from Leicester City Football Club, Leicester Tigers Rugby Club and Leicestershire County Cricket Club meant a a mass have-a-go event was staged in Town Hall Square with masterclasses on offer from all three clubs.

Leicester represents day 11 of the QBR as the Baton heads north this week before being handed over to Scotland on Saturday morning as part of the build-up to the Commonwealth Games.
