England's Lawn Bowls Team made a winning start to preparations for the 2010 Commonwealth Games with a convincing win against the Eastern Counties at Hopton and District BC, Suffolk, last weekend (Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th August).
England won 21 of the 24 matches held over the course of the two days.
The event was supported by EIAT UK, sponsors of the Bowls England White Rose Trophy, and organised as part of the 2010 Commonwealth Games Project funded by Sport England.
John Bell, England's Performance Director, said: "I was delighted with the performance of the team throughout the weekend. The attitude on and off the green was first class, and made for an excellent weekend of bowls.
"I would also like to pass on my thanks to Chris Leake, EIAT UK and all those at Hopton & District BC for looking after me, my management team and all of the players so well during the whole weekend."
