Laura Trott admitted she couldn’t have asked for a better outing in Switzerland after coming away from the European Cycling Track Championships with three titles.
Trott established herself as the most successful cyclist in the history of the event when she claimed her eighth, ninth and tenth European titles in Grenchen.
The first came in the team pursuit before she added the scratch title on Saturday and finally the omnium on Sunday – her third consecutive win in the discipline.
Those three golds – along with another hat-trick of titles for Scot Katie Archibald – was enough to see Great Britain top the medal table once again with six golds and three bronzes.
And Trott, who won points race gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, was all smiles after the event.
"For me that's my tenth European title so I'm super happy with that,” Trott said.
“It's just been great. I absolutely love the Euros. I did it from the very first one in 2010 and I've been a European champion in every one I've competed at, which I guess is quite lucky. So yeah I've really enjoyed this whole week of racing."
