Gymnast Claudia Fragapane rounded off a 2014 to remember by being named the BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year at a glittering ceremony in Glasgow.
Then aged 16, Fragapane was one of the stars of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, claiming a record-equalling haul of four golds.
The Bristol-born gymnast only made her senior European debut in Sofia in May, helping Great Britain to team silver.
But her star rose even higher in Glasgow as she became the first Englishwoman to win four golds at a single Commonwealth Games for 84 years with success in the vault, floor, all-around and team competitions.
An impressive outing at October’s World Championships in Nanning, China would follow where she made four individual finals.
And she returned to the SSE Hydo, the scene of her Commonwealth Games triumph, to pick up the trophy on Sunday.
“I would like to thank everyone that has supported me, it is an absolute honour to win this award,” said the 17-year-old.
“I would like to especially thank my mum and dad who have supported me all the way as well as my family and all those involved with my club at Bristol.
“Like I said, it’s just an absolute honour to win.”
In winning the award, Fragapane follows in the footsteps of many young British stars to have picked up the trophy, including three-time winner Tom Daley.
The diver won double gold at Delhi 2010, also aged 16, before going on to add 10m platform bronze at the London 2012 Olympics.
Fragapane beat fellow Team England para-cyclist Sophie Thornhill and golfer Bradley Neil to the award.
Team England Chef de Mission Jan Paterson said: "We would like to send our wholehearted congratulations to Claudia for winning BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year.
“Everyone at Team England is delighted for her and it caps off a glorious year for her in which she became the first Englishwoman in 84 years to win four Commonwealth Games Medals.
"2014 was just the start of Claudia's career in international sport and I am looking forward to seeing her compete at the highest level for years to come.
"I'd also like to congratulate the other five members of Team England who made the final short list of ten for Young Sports Personality."
