Commonwealth Games boxing champion Anthony Fowler is thinking only of victory as he prepares to return to the ring for their World Series of Boxing (WSB) match against Morocco Atlas Lions on Friday.
Middleweight Fowler is one of three Team England medalists from Glasgow 2014 named for the clash in Casablanca, with Qais Ashfaq, winner of bantamweight silver, and Sam Maxwell, light-welterweight bronze medallist, also included in the five-strong squad.
It is the third match for the British Lionhearts since their return to the WSB, with the team looking to get back to winning ways following their narrow 3-2 loss to the Ukraine Otamans last Friday.
Currently third in Group A, the team have reverted back to the same squad which triumphed over China Dragons in the opening match, with Fowler, Ashfaq and Maxwell having all enjoyed victories during that match.
Fowler suffered a cut to the forehead in his fight which saw the bout end prematurely but the 23-year-old was eager to be back firing on all cylinders.
“I am really looking forward to getting back in the ring,” he said.
“My opening bout was a bit of a scrappy affair that ended-up getting stopped on a cut, so I am looking forward to showing what I can do out there in Morocco and delivering a winning performance for the team.”
