Today, 14th March 2017, English cycling champion Joanna Rowsell Shand announced her retirement from international cycling competition.
In a successful 10 year career, Joanna claims that she has "achevied everything I've evever wanted to in Cycling" - with 5 world, 4 European, 2 Olympic gold and also won Commonwealth individual pursuit gold at Glasgow 2014
The 28-year-old has said that she will now focus on a coaching career and will be taking part in the L'Etape du Tour in July, an amateur race which covers the same route as one stage of the Tour de France.
