Commonwealth Games England has today unveiled its strategy that will take the England team through to the next Games in Glasgow 2014 and has announced its plans to recruit the leadership team that will deliver it.

The body, led by Sir Andrew Foster as Chairman and Dame Kelly Holmes as President has recently undergone significant change.   Building on the England team’s success in Delhi, this is the next step in a modernisation programme that has seen the appointment of a new high profile board, a major brand overhaul, and the announcement of the first top tier sponsor for the England team in Glasgow, National Express.

Sir Andrew Foster said “This is the next step in the exciting evolution of Commonwealth Games England.

The top team we put in place of CEO, Sports Director and Commercial Director will play an integral role in realising our ambition for 2014 to make the Glasgow Games a brilliantly successful and unforgettable experience for the England team”

Dame Kelly Holmes said “As an athlete leading an organisation like this I am delighted at the focus on our team. Ensuring best-practice games time management and ensuring the right infrastructure is in place will enable England’s athletes to perform at their best.  We have a hugely exciting future ahead of us and Glasgow 2014 presents an amazing opportunity for the team, the organisation and for English sport.”
