Commonwealth Games England (CGE) is proud to announce the appointment of a new Non-Executive Director (NED) to its Board, bringing world-class expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security to the heart of its leadership team. CGE will officially welcome Robert Rodger on 1st November 2025 on an initial 4-year term.

This appointment reflects CGE’s commitment to future-facing governance and reinforces its commitment to innovation and resilience within the UK sports sector.

Rob is Chief Information Security Officer & Head of Technology Risk and Business Resilience at Admiral (a FTSE 100). He is responsible for Admiral’s strategy for cyber security, technology risk and business resilience, focussed on enabling secure business innovation. Rob is also a former deputy CISO at HSBC and Global Head of Security operations, former advisor to the Government of Bermuda on National Cyber Security strategy and former Head of the Cyber Oversight Board for Bermuda. His other Board positions include the Cloud Security Alliance UK and the Jericho Forum Board.

With over 30 years’ experience with cyber information and security, Rob’s insight will be instrumental as CGE prepares for the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, ensuring the organisation is equipped to navigate the complex digital landscape with confidence and clarity.

This appointment also strengthens CGE’s broader leadership capacity, adding a fresh perspective to a Board already rich in sporting, commercial, and operational expertise. Commonwealth Games England continues to champion best practice in governance, diversity, and innovation—ensuring that Team England is not only Ready to Win on the field, but also in the boardroom.
