Emily Campbell took centre stage on day seven, as she lifted a Games record 278kg to win gold in the women’s +86kg category. 

Teammates Cyrille Tchatchet II and Andy Griffiths won silver and bronze.

The men’s team pursuiters won gold, edging out Australia in a stunning race, as there were five Team England medals on the first day of action in the Velodrome.

There were team silvers for both the men’s and women’s sprinters, as well as a C4-C5 pursuit silver for Morgan Newberry and tandem B bronze for Lizzi Jordan and Sylvia Misztal.

Zac Shaw’s 100m T12 gold was the highlight on the track, with Scott Lincoln claiming shot put bronze, while England’s netballers claimed a semi-final spot with a 58-54 win over South Africa.

There will be ten Team England boxers looking to upgrade their guaranteed bronze medals in Friday’s semi-finals and the first judo medals of the Games are going to be handed out.
