At Team England, we are proud to be English and support 'All things England'. Below, you are able to see what some of our sports stars regard as their personal favourite things about England.

We don't want to just hear from our sports stars, we want to hear from you - the people of England! For your chance to be featured here next month, follow us @TeamEngland, take a selfie, and tweet it to us with your #BestOfEngland. Don’t forget to include the #BestOfEngland hashtag and we will include our favourites in next month's newsletter.

We’ve interviewed a number of Team England’s top athletes about their #BestOfEngland and here are some of our favourite answers from them:

Paul Drinkhall

England No1 Table Tennis Player, ranked in the top 50 in the world

Pride

The best thing about being English for me it putting on the kit and proudly wearing the three lions on the shirt, on my chest.

England is a very patriotic country and to be able to represent your country at anything is fantastic. I just hope that I can make my country proud and get some more medals and results for England in the future.

Rajiv Ouseph

England’s No1 men’s singles badminton player

The Weather

Surprising, it’s when I come back and see the weather. I know it can be very indifferent sometimes but it reminds me that I am home and it’s something I am very use to and comfortable with.

Sometimes when I go away, I’m not used to the climate so look forward to coming back to what I’m used to.

Zoe Smith

Commonwealth Games gold medal winning weightlifter and the first Englishwoman to win a Commonwealth medal for weightlifting

Diversity

I really like the diversity of England – we have so much fantastic rich history but we also have such modernisation and it’s all combined into one culture and that makes England really special.
