THE ROLE:

Team England will create a performance focused environment within each Athletes Village and Team England venue across our wider Games delivery that allows athletes and support staff to deliver their optimal performance throughout the Games. A key factor in delivering this objective is having the right support team in place, who work well together to offer the high-level support required to the team.

Team Support roles are critical in the day to day running of all Team England spaces. Working together across the wider team, Team Support will play a crucial role in ensuring the right environment is delivered consistently for the team.

For Birmingham 2022, the Athletes Village will be split across four locations. These include Warwick University, University of Birmingham, National Exhibition Centre and Stratford, London. Team England will also have a presence at a number of hotels that include additional team bed spaces, performance and medical areas, meeting rooms and space for Friends and Family of athletes to visit, which will need to be supported.

In addition to the Games setup in the West Midlands and London, we will also be looking for Team Support roles in day-to-day operations prior to the Games, this includes but is not limited to the Kitting Out operation.

The roles are ‘hands on’, and applicants should expect an interesting experience with varied and long working hours through the pre-Games and Games period.  


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Team Support are responsible for delivering in several areas across each of the Athletes Villages and Team England venue locations. These areas include:

  • Providing a professional and welcoming ‘front of house’ service
  • Bump in and bump out of Team England spaces, involving the set up and breakdown of all operational spaces
  • Check in and check out of accommodation
  • Bed space planning and rotations
  • Management of team transport
  • Team logistics
  • Managing village and venue guest pass access
  • Scheduling doctor and physiotherapy appointments
  • Ticketing for athletes
  • Producing daily schedules and sharing key information
  • Kit swaps and issue resolution

  • A strong and clear communicator
  • Ability to motivate others
  • Interpret and anticipate change and respond effectively
  • Have a strong understanding of a team ethic
  • Ability to operate well under pressure

 

APPLYING:

  • Applicants will need to fill in an online application form, including uploading a current CV and Cover Letter 
  • Applications close at 5pm on Friday 14 May 2021
  • Interviews will take place from late May 2021 until mid June 2021, and are likely to be virtual
  • Successful candidates will be informed by the end of June 2021


SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS:

The cost of travel, uniform, accommodation, meals, and associated expenses will be covered by CGE. Accommodation will be twin share and located in either the Athletes Village or a Team Hotel, depending on the role.

Successful applicants must commit to:

  • Attending two pre-Games Workshops (the first will likely be 2 days in Q4 of 2021 and the second likely to be 1 day in Q1 of 2022)
  • Being available for a defined period of days either pre-Games or during Games that will fall between approximately 8 July 2022 and 10 August 2022, depending on the role. Likely to be based in Birmingham for the duration of this time
  • Completing an enhanced DBS check
  • Attending a Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop
  • Signing the Team Members agreement, Entry & Eligibility form, and the Team Code of Conduct
  • Working within a non-smoking environment
