Sacha Hickey can now call herself a Commonwealth Games gold medallist after an impressive Team England debut at Glasgow 2026.
Hickey went into the Games with momentum firmly on her side following a successful year in the women’s 65kg category, and rode it all the way to glory in Glasgow.
She has been growing in stature in the senior ranks since winning gold in the 63kg division at the 2024 European Under-23 Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
More success in Bulgaria came Hickey’s way in 2025 when she won the light-welterweight competition at the Strandja memorial tournament while her first World Championships saw her reach the quarter-finals in Liverpool.
Her growing accomplishments were added to by her winning a bronze medal at the World Boxing Cup in Brazil to further establish herself in the top 10 of the world rankings.
