Born in Russia, Patris Mughalzai discovered his love of boxing in West London after moving to the capital from Leicester at the age of three.
At Powerday Hooks ABC, he has been able to hone his craft with sparring sessions against Olympic champion James DeGale, but missed out on imitating DeGale and earning Olympic qualification in 2024.
He bounced back from that disappointment by reaching the European U23 Championship final that October and kicked on to earn selection for his first Commonwealth Games.
He made the most of that opportunity too, clinching a gold medal in the 65kg category at Glasgow 2026.
