It’s a first Commonwealth Games appearance for Mary Kate Smith who impressed in her World Championships debut in 2025.
She reached the quarter-finals in the 75kg division, coming within just one fight of coming away from Liverpool with a medal.
Smith had narrowly missed out in the final of the National Amateur Championships earlier in the year, as she was beaten on a split decision.
She went better than that at Glasgow 2026, though, taking home a bronze medal.
While her brother chose not to continue boxing while they were growing, she did so and has her dreams set on a world title when she eventually turns professional.
