Luke Greenbank returned to the Commonwealth stage in 2026 to clinch the one individual medal which had previously eluded him.
Greenbank made history at Tokyo 2020 when he became the first Team GB swimmer to win an Olympic men’s backstroke medal over 200m, winning bronze, before taking silver as part of the 4x100m medley relay.
He has won world 200m backstroke medals in 2019 and 2022, bronze and silver respectively, and has two individual European Championships podiums to boot.
But in two previous Commonwealth Games, he had to settle for a pair of relay medals, winning 4x100m medley silver in Gold Coast before upgrading to gold in Birmingham.
That was until Day 3 in Glasgow, where he secured bronze in the 200m backstroke.
