James Guy won a medal in every event he competed in at Birmingham 2022, and started off at Glasgow 2026 by adding to that with silvers as part of the 4x100m and 4x200m freestyle teams.

He then claimed an individual honour with another silver in the 200m freestyle.

Last time out in the Midlands, the freestyle and butterfly star claimed six medals – one gold, two silver and three bronze - and his overall Commonwealth Games total now stands at 14.

The 30-year-old has won three Olympic gold medals as well as three silvers having topped the podium twice in Tokyo in the 4x200m freestyle and 4x100m mixed medley and once in Paris – defending the 4x200m freestyle crown alongside Duncan Scott, Tom Dean, and Matt Richards.

Guy won his first Commonwealth Games gold medal in Glasgow back in 2014 in the 4x100m medley, kickstarting a career which has also seen him become a six-time world champion.

Outside of swimming, Guy can often be found watching golf or tackling 18 holes himself, while he is also a passionate Manchester City fan.

Tom Dean aka “The SubmaDean” followed up his double Olympic triumph at Tokyo 2020 by making history in Birmingham, becoming the first Home Nations athlete to win seven medals at a single Commonwealth Games.
