Life looked a little bit different for Jamell Anderson going into Glasgow 2026, but one thing remained the same from Birmingham 2022: he was out to win gold.
Anderson was part of the England side that won a dramatic gold four years ago, as Myles Hesson’s buzzer beater defeated Australia.
Anderson has since become a dad, to daughter Harper, and got a job in the corporate world alongside continuing to represent his country.
It is a difficult balance but his resolve to retain the Commonwealth title never waned in his bid to continue the growth of the 3x3 game.
And he succeeded in that ambition as England defeated Australia 19-17 in the Glasgow final to make it back-to-back golds.
His Commonwealth journey started at Gold Coast 2018, where he made headlines by proposing to partner Georgia Jones on court.
