There is starting young and then there is Ethan Vernon, who first competed on a bike at just four years old.
Over two decades later he is still going as he gears up for a third Commonwealth Games.
Having previously represented Team Wales at Gold Coast 2018, he made his Team England debut on home soil at Birmingham 2022.
There he won team pursuit silver alongside Charlie Tanfield, who he will team up with again at Glasgow 2026.
After Birmingham 2022, Vernon went to a second Olympic Games, winning team pursuit silver in Paris two years ago.
He has also been crowned world champion twice, once in Glasgow in the elimination race, and was European champion in the team pursuit in 2024.
Equally adept on the road, Vernon began life as a BMX racer before switching to the track.
