Emily Campbell smashed the Commonwealth Games record at Glasgow 2026 to earn back-to-back gold medals.

Campbell lifted a total of 278kg - more than 20kg higher than the silver medallist in the women's +86kg event - to cement her status as one of the most decorated English weightlifters of all time.

And it was not the first time she has made history.

A six-time European champion, the first woman to ever achieve the feat, Campbell also broke a Games record at Birmingham 2022 as she claimed gold in the women's +87kg category.

Her win saw her beating the defending champion by three kilograms and break her personal best.

The summer before she had added her name to the record books by becoming the first British woman to medal in weightlifting at the Olympics with silver in the +87kg event.

A Leeds Beckett graduate with a degree in Sports Science, Campbell has become a household name in British weightlifting, with world silver and bronze to her name.

She trains at the legendary Atlas gym in Alfreton and, having won a bronze medal on the Gold Coast in 2018, will look to add to that haul at her third Games in Glasgow this summer.
